What Shopify Plus costs
Shopify lists Plus at $2,300 a month on a three-year term or $2,500 on a one-year term, and more complex, higher-volume businesses may also pay a variable platform fee based on revenue.

Plus on a three-year term costs $1,941 a month more than Advanced billed yearly, or $23,292 a year. Themes, apps and agency work cost the same on both, except that a paid theme needs its own license for each expansion store.

When Plus pays off
Plus pays off when something only Plus can do is worth more to you than about $23,300 a year, the extra fee over Advanced billed yearly.
Stay on Advanced if

The math on card rates
On card rates alone, Plus saves 0.25 points on each US online payment through Shopify Payments, so it covers its extra fee over Advanced only above about $776,000 a month in online card sales.
The math: Plus on a three-year term costs $1,941 a month more than Advanced billed yearly. At 0.25% of sales, it takes $776,400 a month in US online card sales, or about $9.3 million a year, to break even.
With another payment provider the gap is 0.4 points, Shopify's 0.6% fee on Advanced against 0.2% on Plus, and the break-even is about $485,000 a month.
Below those sales, the case for Plus rests on its features, not its rates. These sums leave out the variable platform fee some larger businesses pay.

Before you move to Plus
Before you sign, plan four things: the contract term, what replaces any old Shopify Scripts, which expansion stores you will open, and who builds the checkout and Functions work.
The term
Shopify prices Plus at $2,300 a month on a three-year term and $2,500 on a one-year term. Ask Shopify whether a variable platform fee applies to you.
Scripts to Functions
Shopify stopped the editing and publishing of Scripts on April 15, 2026, and every Script stopped running on June 30, 2026. Rules that ran as Scripts now need Shopify Functions or a public app.
Expansion stores
Plus includes up to nine expansion stores next to your main store. Each one needs its own license if you use a paid theme.
