Shopify Plus Migration: What You Need to Know
What is a Shopify Plus migration?
A Shopify Plus migration moves a store from another platform onto Shopify's Plus plan: products, customers, orders, content and every Google address, plus the features only Plus runs, such as custom checkout steps and custom Functions.
We have moved stores from Magento, BigCommerce and other platforms. A store already on Shopify doesn't migrate: it changes plan, and the work is what Plus unlocks.
What does a Shopify Plus migration cost?
Two bills. Shopify lists Plus at $2,300 USD a month on a three-year term or $2,500 on a one-year term, and more complex, higher-volume businesses may pay a variable platform fee on top. That is $27,600 a year at the least.
Our price for the move depends on your platform and what moves. For the largest stores it starts at $20,000 from WooCommerce and $35,000 from Magento. Salesforce Commerce Cloud is priced after we see the store. The fixed price comes in writing before you sign.
How long does a move to Shopify Plus take?
4 to 12 weeks, depending on what moves. Large or complex stores, with over 10,000 products, several markets, a custom checkout, a headless build or many integrations, take 8 to 12 weeks. Your free check gives your exact weeks in writing.
Magento to Shopify Plus: what changes?
Extensions don't move. Each one becomes a Shopify feature, an app or custom code. Customer groups and tier prices become B2B catalogs and price lists, and store views become Shopify Markets or expansion stores.
If your Magento version is near the end of its support, plan the move before the date forces it.
What happens to custom checkout code and Shopify Scripts?
Shopify hosts the checkout, so checkout code from another platform doesn't move. On Plus, checkout extensions cover the information, shipping and payment pages, and custom apps built with Shopify Functions run your own rules.
Shopify Scripts stopped running on June 30, 2026, so rules that ran as Scripts are rebuilt as Functions.
Will my Google rankings move?
They can, for a few weeks, while Google recrawls the new addresses, so we never promise no change. We list every indexed page, map it to its new address and add 301 redirects before launch. Plus allows up to 20,000,000 redirects. We carry over titles and descriptions and watch Search Console after launch.
