Plan your switch
Shopify migration for UK stores
When you switch matters as much as how. Pick your platform and your go-live date to see when work has to start, and whether the date runs into peak season or a bank holiday.
Start by
17 November 2026
The latest start for a go-live on 9 February 2027, allowing 4 to 12 weeks.
This date is clear of peak season and bank holidays.
Bank holidays for England and Wales from GOV.UK, read on 4 November 2026.
What moves, and what gets rebuilt
A migration is two jobs. Your data moves across. Your store's design and features are built again on Shopify.
Moves across
- Products and variants
- Customers
- Orders
- Pages and blog posts
- Titles and descriptions
- Every old address, as a redirect
Built again
- Your design, as a Shopify theme
- Apps in place of old plugins
- Payments and shipping
- VAT and tax settings
- Email and analytics links
How the switch runs
Your old store keeps selling the whole time. Timing depends on your platform and your store.
- Step 1:
Audit
Your store end to end: data, features, plugins and addresses.
- Step 2:
Parallel build
The new store is built while the old one stays live.
- Step 3:
Data and checks
Data moves across, then is checked against the old store.
- Step 4:
SEO handover
Every old address points to its new page. Sitemap and Search Console updated.
- Step 5:
Switch day
You pick the day. Support follows after launch.

- Your card fees
- Online cards cost 2% plus 25p on Basic, down to 1.3% plus 25p on Plus. Foreign cards cost more.

- Your legal pages
- Your cancellation wording has to move with the store. UK shoppers can cancel up to 14 days after delivery.

What we put in writing
- Your price doesn't move once you sign, unless the scope grows.
- Your old store stays live until switch day.
- If a redirect we set breaks in the first 90 days, we fix it free.

UK migration questions, answered
When is the best time to move a UK store?
Outside peak season. Many stores avoid changing anything from mid-November to the New Year. A quiet week away from a bank holiday is safest, because support teams and carriers run normally.
Do you migrate from Visualsoft or EKM?
They aren't on our price list yet, so we check what your store holds and give you a fixed price in writing. Stores with $1M or more a year in online sales get a free Google traffic check first.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Nobody can promise rankings. What we do is carry over your titles and descriptions and set a redirect for every address that changes.
Are your prices in pounds?
Our price cards are in US dollars, as on the rest of the site. Your written quote says exactly what you pay.
